Common questions

Answers

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so a few of these live in your iPhone's Settings rather than in the TrueReels app.

An episode won't play, buffers, or shows a black screen

Video is streamed, so playback problems are almost always network or session related. In order:

  1. Check you have a working connection — switch between Wi-Fi and cellular and try again.
  2. Force-quit TrueReels (swipe up from the bottom of the screen, then swipe the app card away) and reopen it.
  3. If you have Low Data Mode or a VPN turned on, turn it off and retry — both can stall a video stream.
  4. Make sure you are on the latest version of TrueReels from the App Store, and that iOS itself is up to date.
  5. Restart your iPhone. This clears a surprising number of stuck media sessions.

Still stuck? Email support@truereels.app with the series and episode name, your iPhone model, your iOS version and roughly when it happened — that is enough for us to trace the specific playback session.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

All TrueReels subscriptions are sold and billed through Apple, so they are managed in your Apple ID settings — not inside the TrueReels app.

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap your name at the top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Tap TrueReels, then Cancel Subscription.

Two things worth knowing. Cancelling stops the next renewal — you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. And deleting the app does not cancel a subscription; you must cancel in Settings.

To avoid being charged for the next period, turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Full terms are in section 4 of the Terms of Service.

I'm subscribed, but the app says I'm not — how do I restore purchases?

This normally happens after reinstalling the app or moving to a new iPhone.

  1. Make sure you are signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID that bought the subscription.
  2. Sign in to TrueReels with the same TrueReels account (email and password) you used before — your subscription is attached to that account.
  3. Open the subscription screen in the app and tap Restore.

That re-checks your purchase with Apple and reinstates the All Access entitlement. If it still shows as locked after a restore, email support@truereels.app from the address on your TrueReels account and tell us the Apple ID email used for the purchase — we can reconcile the two by hand.

How do I get a refund?

Apple processes every payment, so Apple also handles refunds — we are not able to issue one directly.

Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with the Apple ID that made the purchase, then choose the TrueReels purchase and follow the prompts.

If the reason is a bug or a problem on our side, tell us as well at support@truereels.app — we will fix it, and we are happy to confirm the facts to Apple if that helps your request.

How do I delete my account and my data?

You can delete your TrueReels account from inside the app, under your account settings on the You screen. Deletion removes your account record, watch progress and saved list.

Prefer to have us do it? Email privacy@truereels.app from the email address on the account, with the subject line Delete my account. We may ask you to confirm control of that address before we act, so nobody else can delete your account.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel the subscription first in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or Apple will keep billing you.

We complete deletions within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to keep, such as transaction records for tax purposes. See section 6 of the Privacy Policy.

I forgot my password

Choose Forgot password on the sign-in screen and we will send a reset link to your account's email address. The link is single-use and expires, so request a fresh one if it has been sitting in your inbox for a while.

If the reset email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder, then email support@truereels.app.

I think an episode got a fact wrong

Tell us — we would genuinely rather know. Every claim in an episode has to be supported by a quote we located in a real source before it can be narrated, and the citations are shown in the app under Sources & Context.

Email legal@truereels.app with the series, the episode, the claim as narrated, and the source that contradicts it. We review corrections promptly and will amend or pull an episode where warranted.

Does TrueReels have ads, or work offline?

No ads, no unlock currency, no "watch an ad to continue" — one subscription opens the whole catalog. We do not use advertising identifiers and there is no tracking prompt, because we do not track you.

Subscribers can download episodes for offline viewing. Downloads live on your device and are removed when you sign out or delete the app.

What does TrueReels store about me?

Your email address and account identifier, where you got to in each episode, what you saved to My List, and whether your subscription is active. That's it. No advertising identifiers, no third-party analytics SDK, no data sales.

The full detail — including every service provider that touches your data and how long each category is kept — is in the Privacy Policy.
